Kona Country Club - Kona Course
[Detail]
Hot
Top Rated
These two courses are very different. The Kona Course is a seaside course and the Alii Course was built on an inland hillside. There are lava areas on both courses, which are played as lateral hazards. Both courses have water hazards in play. The Ocean Course has several holes overlooking the ocean. The tee on hole #13 is near a blow hole. An ancient Hawaiian slide is located between holes #1 and #10 on the Alii Course. The signature hole on the Alii Course is #14, a 171-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from an elevated tee over a lake to the green. The fairways on the courses are fairly wide and the greens large and fast. The courses were awarded a three-star rating in 1994 by "Golf Digest." The green fees after noon are the same for everyone. The 5,841-yard men’s tees on the Alii Course also have a ladies' course rating of 74.7 and a slope of 138. The 6,155-yard men's tees on the Kona Course also have a ladies' course rating of 75.9 and a slope of 129.

There are incredible panoramic sweeps of sea and land, featuring snow-capped Mauna Kea, rugged lava beds, and the sparkling blue Pacific. Princeville Prince Course
[Detail]

Golf Digest has named The Prince Course the Number One golf course in the State of Hawaii. It is also included in their prestigious list of "America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses." The Prince is one of Hawaii's most challenging golf courses, with a USGA course rating of 75.3 and a 145 slope. But fear not. Five different tees on each hole allow you to set your own challenge. Named after Prince Albert, the only son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, The Prince is Robert Trent Jones, Jr.'s masterpiece. Looking as if it had emerged full-blown from nature, it chugs uphill, jumps ravines and careens downhill like a roller-coaster.
Adjoining it is one of the most magnificent golf and clubhouse facilities in the world, the 60,000 square foot Princeville Golf Club. Here, golfers can enjoy the amenities of the Princeville Health Club & Spa and the Princeville Restaurant & Bar. The Golf Club also features full banquet facilities ?including two meeting rooms ?The Alii Room with capacity of 260 pax and the Lehua Room (25-30 pax capacity).

This course is situated along the shores of the Pacific Ocean with mountains also being visible in the background. The front nine holes are fairly flat and wide open, while the back nine holes feature several elevation changes. Many coconut and pine trees, as well as numerous sand bunkers, are found throughout the course. The greens are undulating and well-protected, making them very challenging. The club hosted the USGA National Public Links Tournament in 1985. Locals consider it one of the best municipal courses in the state. "Golf Digest" ranked it 25th among the "Top 75 Public Courses" in 1990, and 2nd best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play" for 1996.

Grove Farm Golf Course
[Detail]

This course offers a great view of the island of Kauai. The first tee is spectacular with the Pacific Ocean on one side and Mount Haupu looming on the other. Volcanic cliffs, massive ravines, giant sinkholes, and lush tropical undergrowth dominate this course. The wonderfully designed course plays around deep ravines and streams that are fed by fresh mountain river rain. This course is unique in that it offers ten holes instead of the traditional nine at most courses. Ownership desired to satisfy the golfer's craving for a spectacular golf game unmatched by another other nine or eighteen hole course. This course was voted one of the top 10 "Best Nine Hole Courses in the Country" by "Sports Illustrated" in 1997. The course ratings are based on ten holes.
